Addie hurt her shoulder jumping from the bed. She didn't seem frail. She jumped real far as she always did. But, she stumbled, which never happened before, and started to limp. We went to the vet and thought she was on the mend. Then, another visit and found out the injury occurred because of cancer in her shoulder. Nature was going to take its course. The vet said she could go soon.

Addie seemed better today. Her and Hank sat by the screen door and both barked at the things they always bark at. Then they lay down next to each other. I'm goofy and I talked with them both as we sat on the floor together. I played happy music and we had a great time. I've tried to keep my 'happy voice' so they both can be for now. It makes me feel better too.

Addie would not take food or water today. She does not want to get up now. We said goodbye to Hank for a couple of minutes before I took Addie to the vet.

Sharon was on a video call on my iPad with Hank to try and keep him calm while I was gone. It didn't work. She said he howled terribly until I came home alone. MY POOR HANK!!!

Oh, Addie girl. I never had a dog who gave more love and had more fun playing ball than you. I will always remember you as the love pup. I'll miss how you always jumped onto the bed and lay on my pillow so I'd pet you at bedtime. Then, you'd go to your spot in the bookcase headboard. Later, the end of the bed. I'll miss you bringing the ball to play and putting it in my hand so nicely. Hank has been looking for you. My poor Hank.
Goodbye Addie girl.

After Addie passed I slept with Hank on the floor every night fearing he might hurt himself as Addie had. on a self inflating camping mat about 2 inches thick with a sleeping bag for padding and then pillows and blanket.

They were such WONDERFUL pups! So wonderful. I miss them. ❤️
